IKKO TRADER
LANDING PAGE

ROLE UX-WEB DESIGNER     CONTEXT ONLINE TRADING     DATE Dec 2013

UX, by the way…

Back in 2013, when I started my new way into Web Design, I happened to learn, analyze and create quite a few landing pages for several customers of the company which I worked for.

Many of them where online trading platforms…

TRADING?

What do you mean by “Trading”??

ONLINE TRADING: “Online trading is basically the act of buying and selling financial products through an online trading platform”… Aha….

A whole new concept was opening up in front of my eyes. I started asking questions like: Who is the potential user of these platforms? What do they like about trading online? What is their purpose? When do they trade online, and where from? What do they feel when they trade? What do they expect to get? And many, many other questions that helped me understand this online financial world.

THE FOLD IS DEAD

But it still works…

One pagers started winking at me back in 2013. And I found myself trying to convince my boss that long scrollable pages were “OK”!! That the era of the FOLD is gone, and that people scroll automatically just like they burp…(even more often!)

From all my questions I got answers that helped me through the analysis of who my user was, and what he/she wanted from a trading platform (and from this landing page). They wanted prestige, adrenaline, and commitment from a trusted company.

So I chose a middle-aged man in an elegant suit on a background of a luxurious living room, to represent my target user. I chose gray and silver as luxurious and trustful basic colors for the page. A few touches of gold around the CTA buttons would do the rest.

Below the fold there’s a jquery feature I implemented which makes the circled picture change as per the phrase on the left that is being moused-over.

The form will appear three times along the page in order to help convince the user of filling it out with his details, as well as to ensure the submitting of the user’s details.

The very bottom part shows the flags representing the countries where IKKOtrader holds technical support. The info bubble will pop-up on hovering over the flags.

See you on my next project…
