MINERALINE

INTRODUCTION
My very first website design
Having worked for 4 years at Odeyah (2008-2011) as the Graphic Designer of the company, brought my ex-bosses back to me in 2012 for some online action, this time as a freelancer.
Odeyah Industries Ltd is quite a big company dedicated to the production, packaging and sale of cosmetic products, mainly based on minerals from the Dead Sea. That’s why their main cosmetic line – which includes more than 50 different products – is called Mineraline.
And this one was going to be my very first website design, all from scratch.
RESEARCH
Due to the geographical distance, we used Skype to brainstorm, and to set the main ideas of the website:
Distributors and sellers around the world.
To make Mineraline known globally.
A display of all Mineraline’s products + CTAs for distributors interested in our line + some background on the Dead Sea minerals and benefits + contact us section + about the company (history, exhibitions, world presence).
It will be a corporate website – with the option of turning it into a commercial one in the future.
TYPOGRAPHY & COLORS
Mineraline had been in the market for some 30 years when I started my position at Odeyah.
Its owners, three good men in their 60’s to 80’s, weren’t that positive about modern styles, so I decided to go for a classic typography that’d suit the need of an up-to-date website, while still keeping a bit of the classic smell in the air…
LATO
From Google Fonts
The screenshots you’ll see here below won’t be showing the use of LATO, but I promiss… I used it for the website 😉
The colors I used needed to be classic, should match the logo – as well as Mineraline’s subline: Mineraline Aloe Vera -, and had to reflect prestige and confidence. These are the ones:
THE DESIGN
Clean, white, and WordPress
THE PAGES
Divided into categories and subcategories.
Mineraline’s website lived on the net for about 2 or 3 years,
until the company was sold.
Thanks For Watching!
See you on my next project…
